It's been a few days since I have posted anything, but that does not mean that things in the Watson home have been quiet. This past weekend, Reece decided to laugh out loud for the first time. Her laughter came while her Daddy was changing her diaper. She was stretched out on the changing table with her shirt lifted up, and Doc blew on her belly with his lips. She thought it was so funny and just let out the cutest little laugh ever! We tried several times after that all weekend long to get her to laugh and we had no such luck.
The weekend was pretty low key for all of us...the grandparents came over on Saturday to visit. For what ever reason, Reece felt like showing off for them and rolled over by herself for the first time while laying next to Grandpa Rand on the couch. It was really neat to watch her squirm all over the place until she figured out how to flip her arm from beneath her.
On Monday morning, I shared Reece's accomplishment with a girlfriend of mine at work and she said to me, "You no longer have a baby any more."--She is exactly right. Reece is getting so mobile these days that Doc and I have to make sure that she is securely fastened into everything...bouncy chair, swing, stroller, etc. She's our little wiggle worm! :)
We are having so much fun with her and we hope that you are enjoying keeping up with her through this blog site. We love and miss all of you and we can't wait to see you again soon.
One last thing, Reece starts swim lessons this Saturday and she is going to try carrots for the first time so I should have some really cute pictures and stories to share. Please check back on Sunday.
Keep up with the Watsons!
Welcome to the Watson Family blog! This is the first blog I have ever done, but with so many of our loved ones being spread across the United States, I felt like a blog site would be the prefect tool to bring us all together. In addition, it will help keep you in the loop of the latest "happenings" within the Watson household.
I hope you enjoy the postings and please feel free to leave comments our our site. We love and miss all of you and we can not wait to catch up with you in person in the near future!
Love,
Doc, Tori & Reece

The Easter Bunny
It has been an exciting day for us because as a family we were able to experience yet another "first holiday" with Reece. Since her birth, we have shared Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day and now Easter! My mom was kind enough to smock her an Easter dress to wear to church, which of course makes the celebration "official." The dress is
In celebration of this special holiday, we went to church with Doc's family. It was a beautiful service filled with so many young children wearing their "new Easter duds" and a touching message. After church, we all headed over to my mom's house (of course, after the UT men's basketball game) for her traditional Easter feast which: included a roasted lamb, spinach salad, potato casserole, fresh asparagus,
rolls, and several homemade deserts. Everything about today has been so wonderful--the spring time air, the delicious food and wonderful fellowship with family members. I am just so thankful for all that God has blessed our family with and on this holiday, I am espe
cially gracious of his love for all of us..."For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever believes in him, may not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 May God Bless all of you on this wonderful Easter Sunday.Reece's First Taste of Food
A very big event took place this evening in the Watson household--Reece had her first taste of something other than milk! Tonight I mixed together some rice cereal and milk until it was runny and gave her a taste. It was such a hoot watching her expression. She definitely is not the biggest fan of it right now--was it ever hysterical watching her push her tounge out!!!
We video taped the entire ordeal, and if I ever have enough time to figure out how to streamline video, I will post it and share it with all if you. It was so much fun watching her face! I did manage to snap a few still shots, which are included in this posting. If you look closely, you will see the cereal all over her face and sloshed across her bib. I think she spit nearly all of it out--
I am not even sure if she swallowed any of it. Oh well, there is always tomorrow!
I hoped you got as big of a kick out of these pictures as we did taking them...I am going to run for now. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and I need to get a few things together for the morning.

Reece's Four Month Check-up
She has grown almost two full inches since her two month appointment--she is now measuring 25 1/4 inches long! At two months she was 23 1/2...she is growing like a little weed. This time she weighed in at 16 lbs and 13 oz (almost 17 lbs) so she has gained 4 lbs even since her last visit. She is 98% with her weight, 91% with her height and 70% with her head growth. The doctor said she seems to be alert and strong--all in all a healthy little girl.
I am also
excited to share with all of you that Dr. Shults gave us the "okay" to begin rice cereal and after that a few fruits and vegetables! I think Doc and I are most excited--I am looking forward to taking pictures and videoing her first tastes of something other than Mommy's milk. I will definitely make sure to post a message with some pictures of that event. We will probably make that our weekend highlight.
I took a half day so that I could spend the rest of the day with Reece, so I had better get going. The pictures I posted are from after the doctor's appointment today and St. Patrick's Day. Her Grandma Pat bought her the Lucky Charm outfit she is wearing--I am pretty sure she didn't get pinched. What do you think?
Tori's 29th Birthday

Saturday, March 15th, was my 29th birthday. It was unlike most every other birthday that I have ever had in that, I nearly forgot about it until the day before. For some reason I was not overly excited about celebrating it this year...I am not sure if it was because I am one year older and one year closer to turning 30...or if it's just because we have had so much going on around the house lately. I think it's probably a little combination of them both--never the less, I managed to find my party hat by Friday evening!
The weekend was spent catching up with family and stuffing our faces with delicious foods in celebration of my birthday. It's funny because I am sitting here thinking about everything I managed to eat over the weekend and I am laughing at the number of deserts I had--strawberry shortcake, Rand's famous monster cookies, turtle cheesecake, and tiramisu. Somehow, I was able to have a touch of all of my favorite sweets with the exception of banana pudding--it really was a wonderful birthday!
Well, I had better run. I will keep on blogging and sharing with you what's going on in the world of the Watson's. Visit back with us soon.
